The members present agreed that because of the high number of apologies due to the adverse weather conditions, Items 7 and 8 of the Agenda would be postponed to a later meeting. Willie McKenna declared an interest in planning application 04/067/CP. 6. Douglas Glass advised the committee that he is a member of the National Trust but did not feel that this was significant enough to require him to declare an interest in applications 04/076/CP and 04/077/CP. The site is also within a heavily designated location, including National Scenic Area, National Nature Reserve, Special Area of Conservation, Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Protection Area. The proposed use also raises issues of significance in relation to the promotion of the sustainable economic and social development of the Aviemore community. 26. 04/084/CP -No Call-in 27. 04/085/CP -No Call-in 28. 04/086/CP -No Call-in 29. 04/087/CP -The decision was to Call-in this application for the following reasons; • The proposal to create a new dwelling from this former steading, involves substantial alterations and extensions to an existing rural vernacular building in a countryside location. As such, it may raise issues of general significance in relation to the conservation and enhancement of the cultural heritage of the area and the National Park. 30. 04/088/CP -No Call-in 31. 04/089/CP -The decision was to Call-in this application for the following reasons; • The proposal to form a gateway feature at Carrbridge raises issues of general significance in relation to the natural and cultural heritage of the area. It may also act as a precedent for similar developments throughout the National Park, and the cumulative effect requires to be considered in this wider context and an overall strategy which is related to the four aims of the National Park. 32. 04/090/CP -No Call-in 33. 04/091/CP -No Call-in ANY OTHER BUSINESS 34. Sue Walker requested that the Convenor write to the Standards Commission regarding the situation whereby the CNPA are unable to make comment on applications which it does not/can not Call-in She asked that in this letter the Convenor stress the problems caused by this situation and urge the Standards Commission to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
